Is your computer too noisy? Add Oil!

Strip Out The Fans, Add 8 Gallons of Cooking Oil

When you switch on your computer, the many fans in your computer start spinning. There is the CPU fan, the power supply fan, the video card fan, the exhaust fan etc. All this results in anything from a quiet humming to a noisy mechanical orchestra (if you have not been vacuuming your computer to prevent the dirt from accumulating around the fans. Err... you have been vacuuming your computer haven't you ;-P)

Well, here is an idea. Take out all the fans from your computer. Instead, submerge your computer components in cooking oil. Yes! cooking oil. Because cooking oil conducts the heat away from the heat generating components without use of any mechanical motion, what you have is a perfectly quiet see-through computer that, well, simply delicious.

This article shows that some people have simply too much free time. But I must say that this is indeed an interesting and innovative idea. And they have a video to show it.
