Slashdot | Leap Second At The End of 2005
It seems that we have all gained one second at the end of 2005 because the scientists decided to compensate for the difference between real time and atomic time (I think... :P)

Good Design
I love good designs. The Origami Calendar the citysea gave me is an example of good design.

Magnets are hidden in the cover to ensure that it is tightly shut so that the loose sheets of paper will not fall out

The cover is designed in such a way that one third of it folds to serve as a stand. Magnets are hidden in the back to ensure that the stand does not fall due to the weight of the paper.

Commonly used techniques and symbols are printed on 5 tabbed index cards and can be slotted nicely behind the cardboard insert for easy access all year round. The card board insert is also designed so that the cards will rest slightly higher than the calendar pages

Each day's origami instruction is printed on the back of a colored paper. The instruction for tomorrow is printed on today's colored paper. This way there will not be useless pieces of calendar paper after each day.

See! Nothing is wasted!
